Tukwila, Washington-based GPSFlight, Inc. develops
intelligent, small-sized GPS-integrated telemetry transmitters
featuring highly sensitive, long-range spread spectrum
wireless data links. The company has developed proprietary
data storage and transmission technology that permits
real-time tracking and analysis of multiple objects using a
single receiver and PC. This flexible platform is ideal for
vehicle and personnel tracking, telemetry and control in
commercial, government, or military applications where
cellular-based solutions are ineffective or cost-prohibitive.
GPSFlight systems have been used successfully to track
moving objects at line of sight distances in excess of 50
miles. Small and lightweight, the GPSFlight STXe transmitter
integrates a long-range spread-spectrum radio unit with highly
accurate WAAS GPS. The onboard intelligent TracID CPU manages
data collection from other add-in boards such as barometric
altimeters, memory recorders, and remote-control I/O for
interfacing and controlling other devices, and provides data
compression and network synchronization. Matched to the STXe
is the RXB3 - an ultra-sensitive base station receiver unit
featuring - 112db sensitivity and 2dB dipole antenna. Mounted
in a hardened metal enclosure, the RXB3 includes a USB
connection and requires no external power supply. Both the
RXB3 and STXe units are available in either 900MHz or 2.4GHz
versions.
The company’s GPS-TEAM software features simultaneous
real-time tracking of hundreds of units, and includes query
‘drilldown’ detail for any one unit. Display includes speed,
relative position, altitude and battery status, and the
product supports fully georeferenced base map data and
advanced polygon based geofencing with time based alerts.
In addition to GPS-based location and telemetry tracking,
GPSFlight units may also be used to control or trigger other
devices based on altitude, position, speed, or remote control.
This ability to make position-based decisions to control
external equipment makes the platform incredibly powerful for
data collection, intelligent remote control, and remote
sensing and recovery applications.
GPSFlight sells pre-configured and customized solutions for
GPS-based telemetry and tracking to both commercial and
recreational users, and is focused on providing a combination
of flexibility, high performance, small size, and low-cost
solutions. GPSFlight’s engineering team can provide custom
firmware and software based on our telemetry system on a
project basis to support specific needs.
