GPSFlight Technology Compared to Other Options

The tables below compare GPSFlight technology to other available options on the market.  Note that some of these comparable options are really not really designed for real-time telemetry, but they are being used for this.  GPSFlight is built from the ground up to be the best real-time position telemetry solution on the market.

As you can see from this table, nothing else even comes close the the power of GPSFlight.

(1) Garmin eTrex connected to small HT at 145Mhz APRS band, using TinyTracII TNC. Custom wiring. Requires HAM license. Est TX cost $500.
(2) RDAS accelerometer, Transmitter unit, GPS unit. Requires HAM license.
(3) Limited data available on Walston unit - not really a telemetry unit, more an animal tracking device

For the APRS transmitter, Max reporting time is 1 second, but only in areas where other APRS traffic is not around.  Also updates less than 5 seconds tend to make the TinyTrac unit confused.
