Current applications include:
Vehicle tracking: The GPSFlight STXm module features
real time and data
logging capabilities (with wireless retrieval of all
historical data) in a single unit well-suited for covert
tracking of vehicles.
Parachute Testing: When used with the optional
Digital Altimeter Module (DAM) from GPSFlight, the STXe
is ideal for ground- or aircraft-based tracking of cargo or
personnel delivered via parachute as rate of descent and
3-dimensional position of multiple units may be tracked via
a single receiver. Our RGPS-900 is an enclosed version of the STXe
and features rechargeable battery pack, high-gain
antennas, external switch and may be configured with customizable firmware
specifically designed for the needs of our airborne
customers.
Personnel Tracking: Our OEM STXe units are used in
several commercially available personnel tracking systems; some take advantage of the "panic button"
feature of the STXe to include immediate transmission of an
emergency signal from the unit to the base station when a
switch is depressed and held. This feature can be used
with attitude/motion switches to automatically send a signal
if the unit maintains a horizontal attitude or is motionless
for a predetermined period.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: With effective range
exceeding 20 miles, the standard STXe and RX3Base units
are in wide use by researchers and operational programs for
tracking of UAV platforms. Optional Digital Altitude
Module and Action Boards provide enhanced vertical accuracy
and additional functionality.
High
Performance Rocketry: GPSFlight systems are in wide use
by hobbyists and researchers for tracking and recovery of
high performance rockets at altitudes exceeding 100,000
feet.
